Sarah and Daniel's Wedding

Travel to Block Island

Block Island is beautiful and everywhere you look there are awesome things to see. Unfortunately, it’s also a little tricky to get to… Here’s some tips on how to get to Block Island and how to get around once you’re there.

By Plane

By Plane: There are three airport city choices if you are flying in for our wedding.

By Train

If you are flying and not planning on renting a car you will need to take a train from the airport to the town where the ferry leaves.

By Ferry

The last leg of any journey to Block Island is a ferry ride. There are two locations that you can depart from:

Once You Are On the Island

Block Island is only 7 miles long and 3 miles wide and our Wedding venue is within walking distance from the ferry, so if you are flying to our wedding you probably won’t need to rent a car. Most tourists cruise around the island on bikes and mopeds and there are a number of rental shops directly across from where the ferry docks. On the off chance that you would like to rent a car, you will need pick it up before getting to the island and bring it over on the ferry.

Places to Stay: Block Island is seriously quaint, so there are no chain hotels or awesome deals to be found on Priceline. (We promise the beauty of the place makes up for it.) Check out this website for places to stay. The wedding party will be staying at XXXX. While all the beds and bedrooms are taken, there is a big back yard, so if you are looking to save money feel free to bring a tent and a sleeping bag and crash in the back yard.
